Waking up to exciting news is one of the best feelings in the world. Hearing from my love this morning was absolutely the best way to start my day. Then, I received a text message. It was from last night, since I normally turn my phone off at night. Maybe this will teach me that good news can happen at anytime of the day. The Atlanta Braves had officially hired Brian Snitker as their new manager.

If there was ever a Interim manager title that carried over from 2016, helping rip that title into shreds would be appropriate. This is the best thing the Braves organization could have done. John Coppolella, the General Manager of the Braves knew it. John Schuerholz, the former GM and now president of the Braves, knew this was a perfect fit. A new attitude could be felt throughout the organization and that excitement carried over to the Braves fans.

Having an amazing line up that won 20 of their last 30 games, only can get better in the 2017 season. SunTrust park will be the new home for the Braves. New coaches are coming also. Ron Washington will be the new Third Base Coach. Chuck Hernandez will take over as Pitching Coach. The new Hitting Coaches are Kevin Seitzer and Jose Castros. Marty Reed will take over as the Bullpen Coach as well. Bo Porter the former third base coach will now be the assistant to the general manager.

However familiar names and coaches will still be around. Terry Pendleton will remain as Bench Coach. Eddie Perez will still be the First Base Coach. Notice that all position and bench coaches are capitalized. Doing that intentionally is my way of showing respect to the team I love. Just as saying yes ma’am and yes sir to practically every new people I come into contact with, is just how we do things differently down South. My girlfriend who lives up North doesn’t mind me saying yes ma’am to her, even though she is 8 years younger than me. I’m sorry Jennifer, that’s just how we Southern boys do things.

It’s only too bad we as fans have to wait until Spring training to see our Braves in action. With Spring, there are new happenings and everything seems to bloom. The expectations in Atlanta for our beloved Braves will be ready to burst. It will be a great time to be a Braves fan. Anytime is the best time to show our passion for baseball and the Atlanta Braves. Regardless of where you live around the world, we love the Braves and are part of the Braves universe. Even if a certain Braves writer is heading up North. GO BRAVES!!!
