Braves trade for Alex Jackson from the Mariners.

The Atlanta Braves continue their busy off season by trading pitchers Rob Whalen and Max Povse to the Seattle Mariners for outfielder Alex Jackson.

Alex Jackson is a former 1st round pick (selected 6th overall) in 2014 with the Mariners. The deal also included a player to be named later for the Braves. The Mariners are looking for pitching arms during the off seasons and they got 2 more arms to add to their rotation.

Jackson, 20, had impressive numbers in the minor leagues system. He hit .243 with 11 home runs and 55 runs batted in. He only played in 92 games and although it’s only single A ball, the Braves have a great history of developing young talent. Plus the Braves were able to trade away Rob Whalen who was a good pitching prospect but who was unreliable in his major league debut with the Braves. The Braves got another early start before the Winter meetings this Sunday. GO BRAVES!!!!!
