That Atlanta Braves have their final player in the trade with the Seattle Mariners deal. Tyler Pike is the player to be named later in the trade with the Mariners on November 28th. This trade sent pitchers Rob Whalen and Max Povse to the Mariners for Alex Jackson.
Tyler Pike is a left handed starting pitcher. He is 22 years old and he’s from Winter Haven, Florida. He was a starting pitcher at Winter Have high school and was an all star in 2012 and 2013. After high school he was drafted by the Mariners, and his pitching numbers in High A-Bakersfield were 6-5 with a 4.01 ERA with 134 strikeouts in 25 starts.
The Braves farm system has added yet another starting pitcher to their impressive stock pile of starting pitching. The Braves can potentially put together a nice package of minor league players before the July trading deadline. This deadline seems to be far off since we are still in 2016, however once the 2017 Spring Training starts down in Florida, time really does start flying by quickly in the baseball world. Pitchers and catchers report in late February of 2017. Tyler Pike will have the opportunity to impress the Braves managers and coaches. GO BRAVES!!!!!
