The Atlanta Braves closed out the Winter meetings with a bang. They have traded away pitchers Tyrell Jenkins and Brady Feigl to the Texas Rangers.
Tyrell Jenkins was a flamboyant presences in the Braves dugout but his pitching tools were not up to par. Brady Feigl is a southpaw pitching prospect. Both the players will be missed in the Braves organization but Luke Jackson is a welcomed young pitching arm. Jackson is a right handed 25 year old who will probably start in AAA Gwinnett with the Braves to get more playing time and innings under his belt.
This may not be the blockbuster deal Braves’ fans had hoped for, but this is a great baseball trade. Jackson has the tools necessary to be a major league pitcher, but he needs the proper coaching the Braves farm system is noted for. With a 162 game season injuries are just a part of baseball. It’s a great thing to see the Braves stock plying pitchers for the long haul. The Braves bullpen lack of performance lead to the Braves retooling their farm system with plenty of pitching depth. GO BRAVES!!!!!
