What to do next in Bravesland?

There’s no such word as Bravesland. My spell check keeps me well informed of that. It’s not like Disneyland which spell check finds appropriate. This makes very little sense to me, but life marches on. Anyway, back to this article.

The Atlanta Braves have a very loaded farm system and this is well documented. I was strolling through Twitter this weekend and it was suggested that the New York Yankees have the best farm system in baseball. Most of my friends on Twitter are Braves fans like itself. I almost wanted to send a message to all my friends to simmer down. However when I’m upset or hear some disturbing news, the last thing I want to do is have some guy who is from California telling me to calm down. Those are fightin words, and yes I’ve been told that at least a dozen times in my 44 years of living.

Riddle me this people and fans of the Braves, why do you care?  It’s another writer’s opinion. That’s it, this is not a proclamation from God. It is an opinion of a writer in New York. Never forget ESPN started in New York. Get over it y’all. The Braves farm system is the best in baseball. The only difference is my opinions don’t have corporate sponsors. Opinions are just published guesses. That’s it and that’s all. Again Braves fans, simmer down. Christmas is coming, focus on that instead.

With all these talented young players in the Braves farm system, who will make the 25 man roster?  I have my list of who should be there, and Spring Training is still over 2 months away. I will not be traveling down to Florida for this event, although I have not 100% ruled that possibility out either. Some names I have no doubt of making the line up. You know their names; Freddie Freeman, Matt Kemp, Nick Markakis, Dansby Swanson, Julio Teheran, Mike Foltynewicz, and the last goes on. Some of my favorite names might not make this list either. I won’t say names, I think that sends bad vibes and we need all the positive vibes we can get in Atlanta this season.

One writer’s opinion is meant to create drama. That’s a burden we have to take. My articles I’m sure have outraged some fans who do not wear an A on their baseball caps. I’ve received e-mails telling me which hot places to go to underground and suggesting I’m just a “homer” who only likes the Atlanta Braves. I do my best to be unbiased as I can. I cheer for my sport’s teams to win but if they lose my life doesn’t come to a stand still. When a writer in New York states the Yankees have a better farm system, who cares?  I didn’t lose a wink of sleep over their opinion.

My girlfriend doesn’t love me less because I don’t follow hockey as much as she does. My friends don’t automatically hate me when my teams beat their teams. Having baseball arguments in December is a great thing. It gives us a break from the realities and pressures of the holiday season. In the final analysis do the Braves have the best farm system in baseball? Absolutely yes in my opinion. Other fans may disagree, feel free. My opinion in South Carolina is just more home based probably. Get it? Home base, I’m losing it. My coffee hasn’t taken it’s full affect. Peace Up! A-Town!! GO BRAVES!!!!!
