Matt Kemp crushes 3 homeruns in Milwaukee to secure the Braves victory.

The Atlanta Braves bats have awakened. Before the series against the Milwaukee Brewers, the Braves smacked the baseball around at Shea stadium in New York against the Mets. In the last 3 games, the Braves have scored over 30 runs. They are not relying strictly on homeruns either. Someone forget to tell Matt Kemp that as he smashed 3 homeruns last night.

The Braves are playing for their second series sweep this afternoon before they head back home to Atlanta and SunTrust Park. The Braves lineup isn’t solely on one player either. From top to bottom the lineup is just seeing the ball better. Ender Inciatre leading off is getting on base more and the Braves number 2 spot in the rotation is being filled nicely by both Brandon Phillips and Adonis Garcia. Dansby Swanson is currently still batting in the bottom of the lineup but he is slowly increasing his batting average and had a two run homerun to boost. Last night was Matt Kemp’s turn in the spotlight with 3 home in a single game.

Matt Kemp is the first Braves player to hit 3 homeruns in over 3 seasons. Jaime Garcia allowed an early run in the first inning, but the Braves responded in the second inning tying the game. Freddie Freeman continued his outstanding play at the plate. Since the All-Star Break in 2016 Freddie Freeman On Base Percentage is an incredible.750.

The new phrase about Freeman going around social media is MVFree. Freeman may have a shot at winning the National League’s Most Valuable Player for the 2017 season but it is way to early in the season for that award. If Matt Kemp continues to keep crushing the ball over the outfield fences, he can make a solid argument for the MVP as well. The Braves are primed for the series sweep today and will send Mile Foltynewicz to the mound. Let’s all hope the Braves lineup continues to supply the Braves with plenty of runs. GO BRAVES!!!!!
