Flowers has a huge night and gives Folty his first win of the season.

Tyler Flowers was zoned in last night in Miami. Flowers can do thing at the plate I can only dream of, like hitting a 96mph fastball. Not only does Flowers get base hits off of of fastballs, but he gave the Atlanta Braves an early lead they never surrendered. In the top of the 2nd inning with Matt Kemp on base, Flowers crushed a lively fast ball over the left field wall. Flowers was not done with his hitting clinic either. Later in the game, he added a 2 run single to his impressive game statics.

Mike Foltynewicz got the early run support he needed and picked up his first win in the 2017 season. Foltynewicz had been impressive on the mound this season but he did not get the runs to secure the wins. Maybe a day off in Miami was exactly what the Braves needed. Having never been to Miami myself I’ve heard many complimenlts about the city. Mike Foltynewicz was a fan of the city last night and only allowed a single homerun before the Braves turned the game over to the Braves bullpen.

Up and down the lineup the Braves bats were in full swing. Matt Kemp extended his hitting streak last night, which stands at 12 straight games and Freddie Freeman did something I wished he did more often and hit the ball to left field avoiding the shift a lot of ball teams are now doing. When Freeman hit the ball down the third base line, there was no fielder to knock the ball down and Freeman enjoyed a stand up double, compliments of the”Freeman shift.” Dansby Swanson got a key hit up the middle and just seemed more relaxed at the plate.

Last night belonged to Tyler Flowers and Mike Foltynewicz. Flowers provided the offense for the Braves and Foltynewicz provided the pitching the Braves desperately needed. The Braves have always played the Miami Marlins well and last night was no exception. You just need one victory to start a winning streak. It would be a fallacy to assume the Braves are starting a winning streak, but last night’s win was celebrated all over the Braves universe. Tonight is a new game and my fingers are crossed hoping the Braves get another victory in Miami. GO BRAVES!!!!!
