Inciatre has 5 hits and Adams goes deep as the Braves beat the Pirates last night.

Mike Foltynewicz seems to have found his form. Foltynewicz earned his 3rd straight win last night as the Atlanta Braves take game 1 of the series with the Pittsburg Pirates. The Braves starter only allowed 2 earned runs before the Braves bullpen took control. It has seemed that once the Braves starters turn the game over to the bullpen, it’s the right thing to do.

Ender Inciatre had an impressive 5 hit night including an RBI and a run scored. It was the first 5 hit game at SunTrust Park. Matt Adams hit a 2nd level homerun and absolutely crushed his first homerun as a Braves player. Brandon Phillips got his 200th career homerun last night as well. Whatever the Braves hitting coaches are teaching in Atlanta, it would be nice to hear.

Gerrit Cole of the Pirates pitched a solid game for his team. The Pirate’s offense couldn’t figure out Mike Foltynewicz yesterday evening. The Braves lineup was on fire against Cole and got an impressive 10 hits off the Pirates starter in 4 2/3 innings. Last night Cole surrendered 5 earned runs for the first time in the 2017 season. Mike Foltynewicz kept his emotions in check last night.

The Braves bullpen has been nothing but impressive lately. Jason Motte, came in the ball game in the 6th inning and got the Braves out of a possible Pirates rally. Jose Ramirez usually pitches the 7th inning before turning over to Arodys Vizcaino in the 8th inning. Then the Braves closer Jim Johnson finishes the game off in the 9th inning. The Braves are shaking things up in their starting rotation. R.A. Dickey will pitch on short rest instead of Julio Teheran. GO BRAVES!!!!!
