Julio Teheran pitched a solid game in Los Angeles. Teheran was looking for a solid game at the plate. He had the good pitches and he was able to get out of situations that could of been devastating in the Atlanta Braves victory. Teheran did give up 3 homeruns, but the Braves had a solid showing at the plate.
The Los Angeles Angels were without Mike Trout in their lineup after Trout was placed on the disabled list after suffering a injury to his finger this weekend. Former Braves player Anderlton Simmons hit a solo homerun early in the game against his former ball club. The Los Angeles Angels got 3 homeruns off of Julio Teheran. The Braves offense came alive and was able to score early in the game and once they got the lead, they never looked back.
The 3rd inning in last night’s game was huge for the Braves as they sent 11 batters to the plate. Matt Adams got a solid double that scored 2 RBIs. Braves left fielder Danny Santana took full advantage at his 2nd shot in the majors this season and also drove in 2 RBIs. The Braves did not hit a homerun last night, but relied on good hitting and base running instead.
In the bottom of the 7th inning the Angels did load the bases against Julio Teheran. Braves manager Brian Snitker then took Teheran out of the game and he went to the Braves bullpen. Jose Ramirez came in the game and he helped end the potential Angeles rally. Once the bullpen was got into the game, the Braves were able to breathe a sigh of relief. Jim Johnson came in the 9th inning and picked up the save for the Braves.
Tonight Bartolo Colon will take the mound for the Braves. Colon has pitched well against the Angels in his career and he is looking for that trend to continue. The Braves are looking for back to back wins and a series win tonight in Los Angeles. The Braves are looking to stay in 2nd place in the National League East behind the Washington Nationals. If the Braves bats continue to hit well against the Angels it is sure to be a fantastic game tonight. GO BRAVES!!!!!
