Yes yes yes!!! The Braves get a series split with the Phillies after Dickey’s masterpiece!

R.A. Dickey pitched his best game of the year for the Atlanta Braves last night. Dickey struck out 8 batters in 7 innings and did not allow a single walk in the ball game. The Philadelphia Phillies could not get their offense going scoring only 2 run in the last 2 games. The Phillies had won the first 2 games of this 4 game series, but the Braves answered back with back to back wins.

Matt Kemp stepped up huge for the Braves with a RBI 2 run double. Later in the game Tyler Flowers also had an RBI double. The Braves are hitting the ball very well over the last 2 games at at SunTrust Park. The Braves will try to keep their bats swinging as division rival the New York Mets start a weekend series with the Braves beginning tonight.

The Braves are in a 3 way tie for 2nd place in the National League East. Currently the Washington Nationals enjoy a 11 game lead in the division, and if the other teams want to prevent the Nationals from running away with the division the time to act is now. The New York Mets and the Miami Marlins are tied with the Braves for 2nd place. The weekend set with the Mets should be very entertaining in Atlanta and fans should get ready for some great baseball.

Last night’s win for R.A. Dickey and the Braves came at a crucial time. The Braves are still without their All Star 1st baseman Freddie Freeman but the mood in the clubhouse seems happy. Last night after Dansby Swanson caught an infield fly ball, 2nd baseman Brandon Phillips a light shove in a joking manner. The Braves are having fun as a team and that kind of energy pours out to the fans in Atlanta. Baseball is supposed to be fun at the core and the Atlanta Braves are proving that. GO BRAVES!!!!!
