Matt Kemp’s walk off homerun seals the win last night for the Braves, and Sean Newcomb continues to show the Braves he belongs in the majors.

Matt Kemp and Matt Adams took turns hitting 2 run homeruns at SunTrust Park last night. Matt Adams hit his massive shot earlier in the game was all. Braves starting pitcher Sean Newcomb pitched 6 strong innings last night while striking out 4. When Newcomb was pulled from the game, he only surrendered 1 run before the Atlanta bullpen took charge.

Unfortunately the Braves bullpen allowed 2 runs to the San Francisco Giants and Sean Newcomb did not pick up his first major league win. Sean Newcomb was brought up to the major league after Braves starting pitcher Bartolo Colon was placed on the disabled list and the Braves needed a young proven pitching arm in their starting lineup. Bartolo Colon will pitch this weekend as he is coming off the disabled list. Bartolo Colon is showing his age and Braves fans are hoping Colon has a little bit left in his gas tank.

The Braves currently have 6 starting pitchers in their lineup and Braves manager Brian Snitker will need to make some big decisions soon. The Braves organization is prepared to give Bartolo Colon another shot after his dismal performance so far as an Atlanta Braves pitcher. In other news there has been a lot of conversation around baseball about Braves 1st baseman Freddie Freeman possibly moving to 3rd base to allow Matt Adams to stay in the lineup. Baseball players can switch positions but Freddie Freeman moving to play at 3rd base was not what the Braves planned for.

The Braves will go for the series win tonight. Jamie Garcia will get the start for the Braves. Jamie Garcia has proven to be a great free agent starter for the Braves this season. The Braves offense hopefully will score more early runs to avoid another extra innings game like last night. With the rain delay and the extra innings last night the game did not end until after midnight. Next week the Braves will head out West so this late ending time will be a prerequisite for the Braves. This team continues to rally and the Braves players are just as excited as the Braves fans. GO BRAVES!!!!!
