The Braves win another close game at SunTrust Park last night!

In case you have not been paying attention, the Atlanta Braves are 1 of the hottest teams in baseball. This is not just an opinion, the numbers support this claim. The Braves have won 6 of their last 7 games and 8 of their last 11 games. The Milwaukee Brewers are the latest team to fall to the Braves. The Brewers are currently leading their division in the National League Central, but the Braves are playing hard as a team looking to get back to a .500 record.

While the Braves are winning games and series, they are starting to make some noise in the National League East. The Braves are getting production from their lineup from top to bottom. Last night Brandon Phillips hit a homerun and Dansby Swanson drove in a couple of runs. The Braves defense helped keep the Braves in the game in the 8th and 9th inning with spectacular plays from Dansby Swanson, Brandon Phillips, and Johan Camargo at 3rd base. Great defense wins championships, and right now the Braves are playing great defense.

Braves injured 1st baseman Freddie Freeman has looked at rejoining his team before the All Star Break in early July. That might be a little quick, but Freeman is an athlete and to go on top of that his desire to play the game he loves drives his competitive spirit. Mike Foltynewicz had the same drive to win last night on the pitching mound and picked up the win after throwing 6 strong innings. The rain was pouring last night in Atlanta, but the umpire did not call for a rain delay.

The Braves are only 3 wins away from a.500 record but Braves manager Brian Snitker knows that despite of the excitement of the team, the Braves have to focus on 1 game at a time. R.A. Dickey will pitch in today’s afternoon game for the Braves at SunTrust Park. Dickey has been throwing great games in his last three starts for the Braves, and he looks to continue the trend. The Braves are on a winning streak and it’s a great time to be a Braves fan. The division leading Washington Nationals might want to look over their shoulders, the Braves are coming! GO BRAVES!!!!!
