Behind MIke Foltynewicz the Braves even the series with the Diamondbacks out in Phoenix.

Sometimes you just need a quality start from who is becoming the Braves most consistent starter Mike Foltynewicz. This season as the Braves wrapped up their preseason, Mike Foltynewicz was not even sure he was going to be named the 5th starter in the Atlanta Braves starting pitching rotation. It was a battle with Matt Wisler, Mike Foltynewicz, and Aaron Blair. Foltynewicz stepped up his game and earned his starting pitching job. The Braves were looking to end their 3 game losing streak and Mike Foltynewicz took the pitching mound and quietly sat down the Diamondbacks hitters.

The Braves offense decided to start hitting homeruns in the desert. Matt Kemp got the homerun party started but catcher Kurt Suzuki wins the unofficial title of homerun champion last night with his 2 homerun game. Not wanting to be left out Johan Camargo hit a homerun of his own. The bottom batters in the lineup decided to take advantage of Arizona pitchers and Kurt Suzuki and Johan Camargo hit back to back homeruns to create a lot of excitement in the Braves dugout.

Freddie Freeman scored the first run of the game in the 3rd inning after scoring on a Diamondbacks throwing error that allowed Freeman to move to 3rd base. Matt Adams picked up the RBI driving in the first run of the game. However the long ball would decide this game. Kurt Suzuki always catches for Mike Foltynewicz and has also provided a good bat in the Braves lineup. Tyler Flowers and Kurt Suzuki are a good 1, 2 punch in the Braves catching position.

When the Braves usually start winning streaks Mike Foltynewicz has usually lead the way. The Braves have 1 more game out in Arizona this afternoon before enjoying a day off Thursday. The Braves will travel to Philadelphia with a series against the last place Philadelphia Phillies in the National League East. The Braves are trying to get back to an even .500 record before making a push for a playoff run. The Braves are over 10 games back of division leader the Washington Nationals but the Braves are definitely in play for a wild card spot in the National League. The Braves were on fire after the All Star break in 2016 and the Braves are looking to play as well in the 2017 season. GO BRAVES!!!!!
