The Braves get a huge win over the red hot Marlins at SunTrust Park on Friday night!

The Atlanta Braves have ended the Miami Marlins winning streak at 6 games behind a brilliant pitching performance from R.A. Dickey. The Braves did not dominate this game from the first pitch, but they rallied late in the game and put the very hot Miami Marlins in the losing bracket for the first time in 6 games. The Braves are clawing there way back into the National League East and possible wild card position and beating a division rival is a great sign for the Braves.

It took a 3 run homerun from Nick Markakis to put the game in position for a win, and the very hot hitting Markakis got the pitch he was looking for. Nick Markakis smashed his 3 run shot to the right field bleachers, also known as the Chop House at SunTrust Park. This will rallied the Braves to pick up the win and the Braves bullpen shut down the Marlins bats especially Giancarlo Stanton and his 2 homeruns and 3 RBI night.  R.A. Dickey is making his case for the Braves to pick up his $8 million dollar option at the end of the year and use his experience for the 2018 starting pitching rotation.

The Braves offense was pretty good last evening but the team had a hard time moving runners on base last night. Ender Inciatre continues to get on base with his bat and he has hit safely in 10 straight games. Brandon Phillips is moving Inciatre over into scoring position but unfortunately Freddie Freeman is not driving him in and the Braves continue looking for a solid clean up hitter until Matt Kemp comes off the disabled list. The Braves have used Tyler Flowers, Nick Markakis, and even Brandon Phillips to fill the void until Kemp is back in the lineup.

The Braves will go for the series win tonight behind Mike Foltynewicz. Foltynewicz has pitched very well against the Marlins this year and hopefully that trend will continue tonight. The Braves pitching coaches are using their relievers in different positions and situations which seem to be working for the Braves. Jim Johnson has not been closing games in the 9th inning in the last couple of games but the closing role has been turned over to Arodys Vizcaino. Vizcaino is 2 for 2 in his last couple of save opportunities for the Braves. The Braves can win the series tonight and the emotional pitching from Mike Foltynewicz and Arodys Vizcaino getting their names known in MLB for their fist pumps and emotional facial expressions. GO BRAVES!!!!!
