Freddie Freeman drives in 4 runs and Mike Foltynewicz leads the way as the Braves win the game and series from the Marlins!

Last night the Braves got a glimpse of their young talent that will help lead the way back to post season play, and Mike Foltynewicz is showing his teammates that he is a great starting pitcher. Freddie Freeman put on a hitting clinic at SunTrust Park and as the crowds were chanting, “FREDDIE FREDDIE FREDDIE” Freeman thanked his fans with a three run homerun to left center. Freeman drove in the first Atlanta run earlier in the game as the Braves have won their first series in what seems like forever.

Giancarlo Stanton hit his 3rd homerun of the series for the Miami Marlins but Mike Foltynewicz held the Marlins lineup in check allowing only one run in his pitching outing. Last night at SunTrust Park was alumni night and many of the former Braves players and coaches were at the game and over 40,000 fans were in attendance. Dale Murphy, John Smoltz, and Leo Mazzaone were at the television broadcaster’s table and helped call the play by play with Joe Simpson and Chip Carey. It was definitely a party like atmosphere as the Braves gave their fans an outstanding game.

With Matt Kemp and Adonis Garcia still on the disabled list, Braves manager Brian Snitker is still finding out which players to play in left field and 3rd base prospectively. The Braves called up Jace Peterson from AAA Gwinnett and Peterson hit a single to left field in his pinch hitting performance. The Braves bullpen helped to secure the victory for Mike Foltynewicz and Arodys Vizcaino came into the game in the 9th inning and helped the Braves out of a bases loaded situation that could of turned out badly for the Braves.

Last night was a lot of fun for the Braves and their fans. The Braves are starting to play much better as a team even with injuries to some of their most productive players. Earlier this season when Freddie Freeman went to the disabled list with a fractured wrist, the Braves players were able to rally around the injury and still play competitive baseball. The Braves continue playing with this type of mentality as Matt Kemp works his way back to the lineup. Matt Adams is playing left field and doing a good job at his new position and Freddie Freeman is back at first base where he belongs. The Braves lineup is still a work in progress and the Braves will go for the series sweep this afternoon as Lucas Sims pitches in his second major league game. The Braves are on a winning streak and things are starting to fall into place for the Braves. GO BRAVES !!!!!
