Last night’s game at SunTrust Park was full of errors by both teams and Matt Kemp return to the lineup up made very little difference. The Atlanta Braves lineup hit the ball fairly well but they did not score enough runs to take down the Cincinnati Reds. Only Ender Inciatre and Julio Teheran went without a hit last night, but the Braves hits were scattered and despite in the 9th inning, the Braves had a hard time scoring runs.
The Braves are a dismal 6-14 over their last 20 games and the Braves just have a very difficult time winning in Atlanta or on the road. The problems with the Braves is not with just one player or pitcher the team is struggling from top to bottom in their lineup. Kurt Suzuki did get the Braves crowd excited early in the game with a 2 run homerun but the Braves offense could not get their offense rolling and in the 9th inning it was too little too late.
The Braves will look to redeem themselves with a win today but the Reds won the series last night as they are looking to play in the post season. Braves former closing pitcher Jim Johnson came in as a relief pitcher last night and gave up 4 earned runs as his struggles continue. The Braves bullpen continues to struggle as the Braves continue to look for answers in their bullpen. The Braves are struggling right now and it’s hard in the Braves dugout and the fans in Atlanta.
Today is an afternoon game and the Braves are hoping that Sean Newcomb can pick up his first win at SunTrust Park. Matt Adams did come in off the bench last night and hit a 3 run homerun. Braves manager Brian Snitker will set his starting line-up this morning and even though Matt Adams and Kurt Suzuki are both swinging a hot bat, there are not enough positions for them to play everyday. The Braves are hoping to win the final game of the series before the Seattle Mariners come into Atlanta for the Braves next series. Let’s hope Sean Newcomb is locked in and can help the Braves start a new winning streak. GO BRAVES!!!!!
