The Braves will start Max Fried in their series finale with the Cubs at Wrigley field.

This series for the Atlanta Braves is not going as planned at all. Coming off the Braves first series win over the Philadelphia Phillies, the Braves had a bit of momentum going into Chicago. The Chicago Cubs are starting to play like the defending World Series champions and the Braves are looking like a team that is rebuilding. The Braves have decided to give their highly touted rookie his first start in the major leagues today at Wrigley field.

Max Fried is one of the top ten prospects in the Braves farm system and baseball fans will get their first look at him this afternoon in Chicago. The first 3 games of the 4 game series with the Cubs has been dreadful. In yesterday’s game watching the Cubs hit a grand slam in the bottom of the 2nd inning pretty much sealed the game for the Cubs. The Braves would battle back to score 4 runs yesterday but the Cubs were not done scoring in the 2nd inning. They would score 14 runs yesterday, but the Braves did battle back in the late innings and would score 12 runs yesterday.

Lucas Sims did not look very comfortable yesterday in Chicago. The Braves are still looking to get their starting pitchers their shot at the major league level. Lucas Sims has looked very good in his last couple of starts but yesterday was not one of them. The Braves did hit some homeruns yesterday. Freddie Freeman showed he can hit the long ball against left handed pitchers and hit a 2 run blast in the 3rd inning. Matt Kemp followed with a solo homerun of his own. Braves 3rd baseman Rio Ruiz also hit a homerun of his own later in the game.

It will be a great chance for Braves fans to get their first look at Max Fried this afternoon. The Braves are in a re-building process so expect Braves manager Brian Snitker to get a lot of the Braves rookies their first major league action in the final month of the 2017 season. The Braves are loaded with talent in the minor leagues and as frustrating as it is to watch the Braves lose so many games this late in the series, getting the rookie players experience in the major league is vital to the Braves growth. Max Fried looks to show off his stuff today and hopefully the Braves can leave Chicago with a win. GO BRAVES!!!!!
