The Braves get 6 straight hits to open up last night’s game, and Sean Newcomb picks up his 4th win of the year.

The Atlanta Braves did something last night they have not done since the 1995 season. Their lineup got 6 straight hits of the Philadelphia Phillies and scored an impressive 5 runs in the 1st inning. With that kind of run support Sean Newcomb felt very comfortable on the mound and he was able to pitch enough innings last night to pick up his 4th win this season. The Braves started off this series with a rare win against their division rival the Phillies.

Kurt Suzuki put on a display of his power last night and hit an incredible 2 homeruns. Kurt Suzuki has shared catching duties with different Braves players this season and his power at the plate is even more impressive since he is not the everyday starting catcher in Atlanta. Kurt Suzuki has definitely earned a multi year deal with any ball club in the free agent market after the season comes to an end for the Braves after October 2nd. The Braves signed Kurt Suzuki as a free agent this past off season and he has definitely earned his money.

Ender Inciatre is still trying to reach 200 hits for the 2017 season. He added 2 more hits last night and has a total of 193, only 7 shy of 200 with 9 games left in the season. He had 2 hits last night including a lead off double that hit off the right field fence at SunTrust Park. He would come around and score later that inning off of Ozzie Albies’ first hit of the game. The Braves hitting display was very entertaining to open the game in the first inning, and the Braves fans in attendance had a great time as the Braves start their last series of the season at their new ball park.

Tonight the Braves will send Julio Teheran to the pitching mound. Teheran has not had much luck pitching at home this season but he is hopeful he can finish his last game of the season in Atlanta in style. The Braves can only hope for another offensive display like last night where Johan Camargo had a pair of hits. The Braves will have many questions to answer this off season and Braves general manager John Coppolella will have a lot of decisions to make. Sean Newcomb is hoping to earn a starting pitching job for the 2018 season and his win last night helped his case. The Braves will go for a series win tonight before they hit the road to close out the 2017 season. GO BRAVES!!!!!
