The Atlanta Braves scored early and often against the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday night. Mike Foltynewicz pitched a great game going into the 7th inning before he gave up a grand slam to Devon Travis. Foltynewicz picked up the win as he gets ready for his first All Star game in Washington on Tuesday evening.
The Braves had plenty of offense against the Blue Jays. Ender Inciarte was hit by a pitch in his 2nd at bat. Last year the Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman was hit by a pitch in his wrist which put him on the disabled list. Freeman had his revenge going 2 for 5 with an RBI. Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies had a huge night at the plate with 4 RBIs and 2 home runs. Danny Santana came in to play center field for Inciarte who is day to day.
The Braves are now tied with the Philadelphia Phillies for first place in the National League East. The Braves have won 51 games before the All Star break and will start a 3 game series with the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday night. This Braves team seems to be clicking offensively and it will be interesting to see if the team will make any trades before the trade deadline. Relief pitching and another big bat to add to the line up might be what the team is looking for, but there is no need to trade prospects at this time. GO BRAVES!!!
