2 games yesterday, 1 big lead for the Braves in the National League East!

Well, maybe 1 full game isn’t a big lead. Sure I was trying to grab your attention but hopefully it worked. The Atlanta Braves are enjoying a one game lead over the Philadelphia Phillies. The lead in the National League East might not last as both the Braves and Phillies are playing fantastic baseball right now. You can never assume anything in baseball, that’s usually when the bottom falls out. The mystery and ur . The unexpected is why I love baseball. On paper or with a lot of statistics backing up an argument, never take the human element out of baseball. During any game or series a certain element of luck can play a huge role. Look back in the history of baseball if you need evidence.

At first I wasn’t sure if I was going to write 2 separate articles or just 1 big article. I went with the 1 article option although assuming the Braves would win both games is pretty arrogant thinking on my part. This time my assumptions worked, next time they may not. The Braves are playing well against the National League East this season. But things can change. The Miami Marlins are still a great baseball team. They have many talented players in their dugout and Don Mattingly is an excellent manager. Now tht new ownership is making change, it’s an exciting time in Miami. The Braves are enjoying the same excitement in Atlanta, it’s just the Braves were not expected to be this good this soon. Again it all comes down to analytics and odds, but I had this feeling at the end of the 2017 season. If you don’t believe me, read my offseason articles before the 2018 season began. I’m not saying I told you so, but There was a new excitement brewing in Atlanta. Replacing Fredi Gonzalez with Brian Snitker as our new manager was genius . Well done indeed Braves front office executives. By the way, I’m available if y’all need a gopher around the office.

In case you need a refresher from yesterday’s action, Ronald Acu~na (I’ll figure out how to do the 1 day) was amazing leading of both games with a home run. Amazing to say the least. Almost as exciting as watch our new pitcher Touki Toussaint make his major league debut and only slowing 1 run scored. Maybe watching Mike Foltynewicz pitch like the All Star pitcher he is more your speed? Regardless the Braves pitching and offense were on display in yesterday’s games. I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it, man it feels good being a Braves fan.

In summary the Braves are chasing a post season playoff bid and they are hungry! There is still 6 weeks left in the 2018 season. The Braves do not even have the best record in the National League, that belongs to the Chicago Cubs, for now. Watch out Major League Baseball, the Braves are playing some of the best baseball right now. You might even use the clique that they Braves are on on a war path. I hate using cliques but at times it’s fitting. The Braves are clicking on all cylinders and there is a huge light at the end of the tunnel. It looks like the post season , but again never assume anything in baseball or take away the human element. Personally I feel great about the Braves chances! GO BRAVES!!!
