Better 8 than never.

Okay I’m starting to scrape the bottom of the barrel for headlines, but trust me on this one. It’s much easier reading it than coming up with a new title for a 162 game season. It looks like I’ll have my work cut out for me once the Atlanta Braves start post season play. There are less than 4 weeks left in the regular season, but anything can happen in baseball, remember that! Last night’s game was a bit of a bore outside of the first inning when Ronald Acuña Jr. led off the first inning with.yet another home run. I think a good idea would be to put an accent of MVP. But a lot of the baseball executives are old white men who’d frown at that idea.

Double check the standings this morning if you get a chance. The Braves are 4 games up in the National League East. Plus the Braves hold every imaginable tie breaker in the NL East assuming the Braves take a huge nosedive that nobody ( including me) saw coming. Back to the number 8 in the headline, the Braves scored 8 times in that inning. They gave the fans something to cheer about at SunTrust Park. Dansby Swanson hit a solo home run, to get the party started. I hate the term party to describe any event that’s fun, but that’s me being a bitter old man I guess.

Later in the eight inning the offense in Atlanta began to awake and several players like Freddie Freeman, Ozzie Albies, and others go in on the celebration. Watching the MLBNetwork I get to watch and appreciate the different teams in baseball celebrating in their own unique way. The Houston Astros, the defending World Series champions are probably my favorite team outside the Braves to watch. Their celebrations are unique plus there are several former Braves players in the clubhouse like Brian McCann. Baseball has always been fun and it looks like most teams in baseball are relishing at their opportunities. All in all they are men playing a child’s game that a lot of people can not figure out. The best team in baseball, at least they have the best record in baseball, the Boston Red Soxs, are coming to Atlanta for 3 games starting today at 12:20pm. Pitcher Touki Toussaint will be on the mound. This will be a great test for the Braves team. Let’s see how well they measure up. I’ve been through the stresses of trying to predict exactly what would happen and who should win. I’ve never pulled my hair out trying watching baseball, but it has turned me into an old, grumpy white man. GO BRAVES!!!
